Substitution Policy
Images found on this site are used as guides only and may not be exactly the same as the final product.
Time for Flowers and its suppliers reserve the right to make fair and reasonable substitutions according to the practical availability of specific flower types, items and containers.
Petals network florists (our delivery partner) are bound by the following rules for product substitution:
Petals Network Pty Ltd and its Members reserve the right to make fair and reasonable substitutions according to the practical availability of specific flower types and containers worldwide. This document outlines Petals Network's Policy for Order Substitutions as a guideline for florist Members.
When a florist Member receives a flower order from Petals Network, every effort must be made to create an arrangement of the shape, size and colour and using any flower varieties specified, according to the order description. Specific flower types may be indicated on the order, either by actual description or in the content of an item from the Petals Network Selection Guide.
In the case where a specific flower type or colour is unavailable within the given time frame of delivery, substitutions may be made within the arrangement to achieve the same overall shape, style and colour effect and to ensure that the order is delivered on time.
Except where the selling florist has indicated that there be no substitution, Petals members will always give priority in decreasing order of importance to:
- delivery time of the order, followed by
- colour preferences, followed by
- the overall style of the arrangement, followed by
- specific flower varieties
Flowers of a similar shape, size and value but different type and colour may be used if other flowers in the arrangement substitute for that colour and the overall effect of the arrangement is maintained.
In arrangements of a single flower variety (eg rose bouquet), the flower variety will take precedence over colour.
Quality complaints must be received within 2 weeks of delivery. A photo is highly recommended for quick resolution to quality complaints. Non delivery complaints must be received within 2 months of the delivery date. Complaints received after this time frame will be considered on an individual basis.
Recipient "Not at Home"
Time for Flowers and its suppliers are not responsible for deliveries if the recipient is not at the location at the time of delivery. If you are the customer, you must make sure that the recipient will be at the location on the date given on the order form for delivery.
If there is a contact phone number on the order form, the courier may contact the recipient to check if they are at the location before they attempt to deliver the gift. If there is no phone number provided on the order form, the courier will attempt to deliver the gift on the specified delivery date.
If the recipient is not at the location when the delivery is made, the courier will try to leave a "not at home" card at the recipient's location. This card explains the situation and asks the recipient to contact the supplier.
If the courier deems the location to be a "safe" location the item will be left at the address provided. In these cases delivery will be deemed to have been made successfully. If you do not want the order left at the address please ensure this information has been provided in the special instructions field on the order form.
Time for Flowers and its suppliers will do their utmost to deliver the gift at a later date if the recipient replies to the "not at home" card. Additional delivery charges may apply if the supplying florist has to deliver the gift more than once. Alternatively, the recipient may have to collect the order at the florist/courier's premise.
Fees and Charges
Time for Flowers includes all fees and charges in the value shown on our websites**. You will pay no more than what you see on the product/catalogue pages - excluding extra delivery locations or extra delivery fees, or wastage fees.
**Some rural or remote locations may require extra payment for flowers or delivery, due to the high cost of flowers in those locations ie Alice Springs, Broken Hill etc.
These fees include a delivery fee (of which 100% goes to the supplier for delivery of the order), a service or handling fee and also a Credit Card fee that recovers the cost of operating a credit card service; part of which includes fees charged by the credit card clearing company. Present fees are 2.5% for orders placed on the Australian websites.
Non-DeliveriesTime for Flowers and its suppliers will try their best to deliver any gift, but we do not guarantee the delivery of any product if one of the following occurs
- Recipient refuses to accept delivery of the gift
- Address provided is incorrect
- Occupants are not at the location and do not respond to the "not at home" card left by our courier
If one of these instances occurs, we may judge that the delivery has been made
Cancellations
Time for Flowers cannot cancel any order that has already been made up by the supplier, even if the order has not been delivered. If the cancellation request is made before make up, then Time for Flowers may be able to cancel the order. However, we cannot guarantee that the order can be cancelled.
Refunds
It is not normally policy to refund the price of the product. However, as every customer and gift are individual, (and therefore may require a decision on a case-by-case basis), please contact us via our Contact Us page so we can determine the best solution to the problem.
We can provide other solutions, such as resending the gift, or resending a different gift of the same value.
Time Sensitive / Difficult Deliveries
Due to the difficult nature of delivering for the following events/places, Time for Flowers and its suppliers cannot guarantee delivery to certain locations and times.
While we will try our best to make sure that your gift is received at the event/place, we do advise you to include a secondary address for delivery. The recipient of the gift must be available at this address after the end of the event.
Delivery to difficult and remote areas may incur extra delivery, above that already allowed in the gift value. The payment of extra delivery is the responsibility of the customer and orders cannot be delivered without such payment.
If a delivery should not be made after a certain time (for example, if the recipient is leaving the hotel), please either provide an alternative delivery address within the same delivery area or advise that the order should be cancelled in the NOTES section at the bottom of an order form.
We do not guarantee delivery to the following timed events:
- Funerals
- Wedding Receptions
- Parties
- Functions
We do not guarantee delivery to the following place
- Hospitals (especially Intensive Care Units)
- Ships
- Jails
- Secure Buildings
- Hotels
Note that if the alternate delivery address is in a different area, and therefore requiring the services of a different supplier, Time for Flowers may not be able to assist with the redirection without wastage and delivery charges being paid to the initial supplier.
Timed Deliveries
Time for Flowers and its suppliers cannot guarantee specific delivery times for any orders, due to the dynamic nature of couriers and traffic.
Flowers
While we offer customers the opportunity to nominate a preferred time of delivery, including "as soon as possible" (ASAP), it is not possible to guarantee that these times will be achieved. Time for Flowers suppliers uses a network of local florists around Australia to deliver flowers so that you get the freshest possible gift. Consequently, there are often local reasons why an order cannot be delivered within your preferred time frame.
We suggest you restrict your requests to AM or PM delivery or ASAP if that is important to you. Such deliveries can only be made during local business hours.
Also, it is usually possible though not guaranteed to deliver on a Saturday up to noon. It is not usually possible to deliver on Saturday afternoon or Sunday or on national public holidays.
If the flowers are for a timed event like a funeral, the florists will do their best to assist. However, we strongly recommend that you give an alternative address so the flowers can be delivered there if too late for the timed event.
If a delivery should not be made after a certain time (for example, if the recipient is leaving the hotel), please either provide an alternative delivery address within the same delivery area or advise that the order should be cancelled in the NOTES section at the bottom of an order form.
Note that if alternative delivery address are in a different area, and therefore requiring the services of a different florist, Time for Flowers may not be able to assist with the redirection.
Gift Basket Delivery
Time for Flowers and its suppliers cannot guarantee any specific delivery times for Gift Baskets and Gift delivery. Our suppliers use 3rd party courier services such as Australian Air Express Couriers and are only given a guarantee of a delivery date not time.
